FILU: The Story
It all began in a ropey cafe at the Frankfurt Book Fair in the early 90ties. Many illustrators met there and lamented the fact that they always met the wrong people in the wrong place or at the wrong time. And so the idea developed: OK, anyone in search of illustrators can get anyone of us. But at our meeting-point, which is preferably known to everyone and will soon be cherished by all. For the whole duration of the Fair. And beyond it.
The Frankfurt Book Fair supported this initiative superbly from the start and offered professionals and exhibitors the FILU-Archive as a meeting-point and orientation-guide. Soon Leipzig and Bologna followed suit.
